Used with permission of B Smeets

Footnote: Herman H. Dedloff (WWII)

Herman H. Dedloff was a Second Lieutenant in the Air Corps in WWII. He was a co-pilot on a C-47 transport plane in WWII, in the 84th squadron, 437th Troop Carrier Group. Lt Dedloff was killed in a plane crash on 17 September 1944 near Eindhoven city, Holland. All four crewmembers died (pilot, co-pilot, engineer, radio operator). He was listed as MIA (Missing In Action) since September 17, 1944 for one year, then notification changed in "FOD" (Finding Of Death) on 18 September 1945. I live near the crash site and have a detailed casualty report. Are you able to locate some information overseas (obituary, names of surviving family members). Thank You., B. Smeets in Holland
